The Department of Dentistry at MMMC Manipal conducts the BDS program in compliance with the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the regulatory body governing health sciences education in Malaysia.
Active learning is emphasised in the curriculum. Self-Directed Learning (SDL), Problem Based Learning (PBL), Case Based Learning (CBL) and audio-visual aids are part of teaching-learning methods.
The students attend a community dental camp and visit the chrome cobalt casting laboratory and ceramic laboratory of the Manipal College of Dental Sciences.
They also observe various clinical departments of MCODS, Manipal and attend the Basic Life Support (BLS) course.
